Furnishings

What better way to pass the time whilst waiting for the house to be built than to scour the web for all the furnishings and landscaping ideas we can find. It will be interesting to see if our taste changes much over the months!

Family Room

Lights (x2):

George Nelson Saucer Pendant

In keeping with our existing vintage Danish dining table and chairs, I love this sofa from Angelucci 20th Century:

We already have this Coburn artwork:

I love this rug from Loom:

Kitchen/Dining

We've purchased this light to hang either over the Dining table or to the left over the kitchen bench:

The following pic shows the back panel under the bench in Laminex Lustrous Elm (pic from Laminex website) which is what we've chosen.  I quite like the Xavier Pauchard Tolix stool in white against it.  Replicas of these stools are widely available (e.g. Freedom Furniture, Matt Blatt).  Matt Blatt has them in two different heights (65cm & 75cm) which is good as the one in the pic below doesn't leave a lot of room for legspace!

We already have these vintage Danish dining table and chairs:

The Kitchen, Pantry, Bathroom & Laundry will have round flush mount lights:

Beacon Prima Round Flush Mount

Sitting Room

We don't have a need for 3 living rooms, so instead we have plans to use the Sitting Room as a Study.

This light (x2):

Bedrooms

The Master Bedroom will have this light:

For years we've had a mattress and base and I've never been able to find a bedhead I like.  That is, until now!  These are from Heatherly Designs.  I found them reading an article in the The Age, but others may know their work from one of the beds on Channel Nine's "The Block" last year:

Curtains will be white sheer Ripple Fold:

This chair most likely for the WIR and/or the space at the foot of the bed in the Master Bedroom.  I'd like to pick up the colour of the fabric and paint the feature wall at the head of our bed in the same colour.

Light for the Walk In Robe (boring but functional!):

Beacon Dawn

This light is for the 2 kids' bedrooms:
Matt Blatt Breena

We already have a Boori Pioneer cot and need to purchase another for number 2 in the next couple of months (also converts to a Junior bed when the time comes!):

I'd like to paint the walls a pale grey too, like the following inspiration picture, but will need to go to Porters and try and find a shade that compliments the granite coloured carpet we have:

A couple of these lights for the Rear Hallway:

Beacon Lighting: Habitat

The entry will have some track lighting:

Beacon Vue Spotlight

Ensuite & Bathroom

This light to go above the Ensuite Mirror:

Beacon Edge Mirror Light

Curtains will be a white roller blind, but without a pelmet:
